We are looking for a skilled Senior Corporate Tax Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Stamford, Connecticut. In this role, you will support the company's tax compliance and reporting processes, focusing on federal, state, and international tax obligations. Job Responsibility
Prepare quarterly and annual tax provisions, including documentation to support federal, state, and foreign income tax calculations and deferred tax account analyses
Assist in the preparation of federal tax filings, including Forms 1120 and 1120F, as well as state and local income and franchise tax returns
Handle the preparation of state and local sales, property, and payroll apportionment factors to ensure compliance with various tax requirements
Manage the preparation and submission of international tax filings, including bi-monthly filings in designated countries
Oversee the preparation of quarterly sales and use tax returns and reconcile tax basis fixed assets and depreciation
Respond to management inquiries regarding net tax values for corporate assets, including aircraft
Maintain and monitor a log of tax authority notices and ensure timely responses to inquiries
Complete registration forms for newly established domestic and international entities
Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to access data required for accurate tax reporting and compliance
Support special projects aimed at minimizing the company’s global tax burden and assist in federal, state, local, and foreign tax audits
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
At least 3-5 years of experience in public or corporate accounting, with "Big Four" experience preferred
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and tax rules, including ASC 740
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly advanced Excel and Word skills
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a keen attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities
Nice to have
Advanced tax degrees or certifications are a plus
Experience with tax and financial accounting software is highly desirable
