Microsoft's Corporate and External Legal Affairs (CELA) organization has an opportunity in the Infrastructure Legal Affairs team. This is an opportunity to ensure that Microsoft customers worldwide have the necessary cloud and AI infrastructure capacity to meet their needs and enable their AI transformation. In the role of Senior Corporate Counsel, Infrastructure Legal Affairs, you will lead a team providing legal advice and counsel to the Azure Hardware and Systems Infrastructure division within Microsoft. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of technology development, manufacturing, supply chain, and intellectual property.

Job Responsibility

  • Serve as one of the primary legal advisors for the Azure Hardware and Systems Infrastructure division and manage a team of attorneys
  • Identify and anticipate highly complex legal and/or other business issues
  • Serve as a key business partner and advisor to senior executives
  • Manage a wide variety of negotiations and transactions with unique IP and technology issues related to semiconductor and other hardware development, manufacturing and logistics, supply chain and procurement
  • Collaborate with specialists in trade, IP, and other CELA partners as needed to escalate and drive decisions
  • Develop and implement solutions that anticipate and mitigate risks
  • Manage and develop relationships with clients to create strategic and innovative solutions that address issues and achieve business objectives
  • Provide feedback and evaluate process improvements including the development and deployment of AI tooling that increases efficiencies
  • Support and guide a team of attorneys who support the Azure Hardware and Systems Infrastructure division and, where appropriate, also coordinate and work across Infrastructure Legal Affairs

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate Degree or international equivalent degree AND 6+ years' experience as a practicing attorney in the areas of IP and technology transactions

  • Active license to practice law in a jurisdiction and capable of meeting admission requirements in relevant jurisdiction
