The LATAM (Latin America) Corporate Affairs Lead is responsible for Corporate Affairs strategies, inclusive of strategic communications and patient advocacy, across priority commercial markets in Latin American. This is a dual role that will also serve as the Mexico Corporate Affairs Lead, responsible for developing and executing strategic engagements in this growing affiliate market as well.
Job Responsibility:
Partner with regional and Mexico leadership teams to translate leadership priorities into Corporate Affairs plans with measurable impact
Provide proactive strategic counsel to the VP / Region General Manager
Strengthen Mexico’s Corporate Affairs capability as a growth market
Working in close partnership with Government Affairs, Value & Access, Medical Affairs, Commercial and other key cross-functional partners, identify regional risks, opportunities, and policy developments
Serve as company spokesperson on Mexico-specific issues
manage messaging, media relations, and narrative positioning
Strengthen engagement with patient advocacy organizations in Mexico and across priority markets
Support crisis and issues management for Mexico
Uncover insights and leverage data to map stakeholders and ensure appropriate and aligned messaging across channels
Develop and execute communication plans for branded product communications, disease education initiatives and employee initiatives
Support Amgen’s corporate reputation through proactive storytelling and thought leadership
Lead balanced internal communications in Mexico to reinforce culture and employee engagement
Directly manage the Corporate Affairs Managers for Brazil and Colombia
Create a “community of practice” for LATAM Corporate Affairs teams
Provide dotted-line guidance to the Argentina Government Affairs Lead
Requirements:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of communications, public relations, public policy, political science, journalism, business, or related field experience
Master’s degree and 6 years of communications, public relations, public policy, political science, journalism, business, or related field experience
Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of communications, public relations, public policy, political science, journalism, business, or related field experience
Associate’s degree and 10 years of communications, public relations, public policy, political science, journalism, business, or related field experience
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of communications, public relations, public policy, political science, journalism, business, or related field experience
2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
Nice to have:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English
Portuguese as a third language competency is a plus
Strong political acumen and strategic thinking
Issues management experience
Managerial experience. Ability to demonstrate Amgen’s leadership attributes of inspire, adapt, accelerate and integrate
