Robinhood is looking for a skilled Senior Corporate Accountant to join our rapidly growing Accounting team. This individual will need to be able to pick things up quickly and be able to meet deadlines with multiple tasks. This role can be based in our Menlo Park, CA, New York, NY, or Chicago, IL office with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week. Job Responsibility:
Oversee month-end close activities, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting schedules for all lease related accounts to ensure compliance with ASC 842
Oversee month-end close activities, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting schedules for all internally developed software capitalization related accounts to ensure compliance with ASC 350
Analyze and explain monthly balance sheet and income statement fluctuations and variances
Establish formal GL closing and other accounting process procedures
Assist with compiling year-end external audit requests
Research important accounting issues and suggest the best practices and applications in accordance with accounting standards
Assist team with any ad hoc research, clean-up, reporting projects
Work with various departments to streamline data flow and processes
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
3-5 years of total experience
Understanding of GAAP standards
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Strong technical knowledge and practical application of ASC 842 (leases)
Experience with process improvement and proficiency with spreadsheets
Nice to have:
Experience with system implementation
Hands-on experience in the financial close process
Experience with foreign entity accounting
