We are looking for an experienced Property Lawyer or Senior Conveyancer who is looking for an opportunity beyond fee earning. This role offers the opportunity to combine complex legal work, lender engagement, supervisory support and team development within a busy remortgage department. You will act as a trusted deputy to the Supervising Lawyer while serving as a technical escalation point for complex matters across the wider business.
Job Responsibility
Manage and oversee complex residential conveyancing matters
Act as a referral point for complex cases from lender clients and internal teams
Provide risk-based, commercially sound technical guidance
Support the Supervising Lawyer with legal oversight, quality assurance and compliance
Conduct file reviews and assist with risk mitigation
Embed best practice across sales, purchases and remortgage workflows
Support lender clients with complex case referrals
Provide technical reassurance and clear legal guidance
Help strengthen the firm's reputation for handling specialist remortgage work
Mentor and coach junior lawyers and conveyancers
Support development planning and technical upskilling
Contribute to a culture of accountability, quality and continuous improvement
Use performance data and case metrics to identify risks, trends and improvement opportunities
Contribute to operational enhancements within the volume remortgage function.
Requirements
Qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or CILEX
Broad residential conveyancing expertise (sales, purchases and remortgages)
Proven experience handling complex and non-standard matters
Comfortable acting as a technical escalation point
Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members
Commercially aware, analytical and confident in using data to inform decisions
Strong communicator with the ability to build credibility with lender clients.
