Join us as a Senior Controls Engineer in Lake Orion, MI as we work together to bring innovative automation solutions to life.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the design and development of industrial control systems, including PLC programming (Rockwell, Siemens, etc.), HMI/SCADA development, and motion control
  • Create and review detailed electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and bill of materials
  • Perform system commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization at customer sites
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical design, manufacturing, and project management, to ensure successful project execution
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including functional specifications, test plans, and operation manuals
  • Ensure all designs and implementations comply with industry standards and safety regulations
  • Participate in customer meetings, presentations, and technical reviews
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities for control systems and processes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial automation and controls engineering
  • Proven expertise in PLC programming (Rockwell Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal preferred)
  • Strong experience with HMI/SCADA development (Ignition, FactoryTalk View, WinCC preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience interfacing with robotic programming and integration (FANUC, ABB preferred)
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Experience with various industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP/IP)
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities
  • Ability to travel to customer sites for commissioning and support as required
