In this role, you will report to the Manager PCS & OT and work a 5:2 roster from our head office in Osborne Park, Western Australia with regular ad-hoc site visits. Your focus will be on supporting, maintaining and optimising the systems which is used to monitor and control the materials handling equipment onboard the transhipping vessels under the control of MinRes Marine.
Job Responsibility:
Maintaining effectiveness of process control systems including PLC, HMI, Historian and alarm systems
Troubleshooting and problem-solving, providing technical advice and support to the crews
Evaluate equipment and processes to identify ways to optimise performance
Maintaining, modifying and testing existing systems
Analysing data and presenting findings in written reports to key stakeholders
Assist with purchasing of materials for projects by assessing quantities and completing purchase orders
Identify opportunities to improve plant performance through use of process control technologies
Develop and maintain Safe Work Procedures, standards and specifications for the control systems and associated equipment
Assist in the organisation, planning, preparation and execution of plant shutdowns and start-ups where required
Deliver training and up-skilling to electrical maintenance personnel in areas of troubleshooting and basic maintenance of the control systems
Requirements:
Demonstrated operational experience as a Senior Control System Engineer in a production environment
Strong proficiency and hands-on experience required in GE Cimplicity SCADA systems
Strong proficiency and hands-on experience required in Emerson PACSystems RX3i PLC programming
Strong proficiency and hands-on experience required in Industrial Ethernet protocols including Profinet and Modbus-TCP/IP
Strong proficiency and hands-on experience required in Network communications and associated systems
Strong proficiency and hands-on experience required in Drives and field instrumentation
A tertiary degree in Electrical/Control/Automation Engineering, or a relevant trade qualification with demonstrated experience

Materials handling systems in a Marine environment is highly desirable
