Reporting to the Contracts and Procurement Manager - Projects, this role will manage and oversee contractual activities to meet PLS’ Project requirements. Working closely with various departments and external vendors to execute contract strategies, undertake tendering, negotiate contracts and monitor contractor performance. This is a senior role which plays a crucial part in ensuring efficient and compliant processes while mitigating risks and maximising value for the company.
Job Responsibility:
Contract Management by ensuring timely and effective preparation and evaluation of tenders, negotiation with tenderers, recommendations (RFA’s) to internal customers and management for approvals
Preparing contract documentation, issuing award of contracts, general commercial administration, contract management and close out of contracts
Monitoring contract compliance, track milestones, and address any deviations or issues that may arise
Developing and implementing contract strategies aligned with organisational objectives, cost-saving initiatives, and quality standards
Applying a systematic approach to identifying, monitoring and reducing commercial risks and communicate risk mitigation solutions where appropriate
Leading the sourcing process, soliciting bids, proposals, and quotations from suppliers, and conducting supplier evaluations to make informed decisions
Negotiating contracts and agreements with contractors to secure favourable terms, pricing, and service levels
Building and maintaining strong relationships with key contractors, monitoring their performance and conducting regular performance reviews
Requirements:
5 years experience in a similar role, within the resources sector
Significant experience in contracts, commercial department or similar, ideally within a project environment
Qualified in contracts and procurement, supply chain management, law or business related discipline
An understanding of Contract law and general law
