You will act as a technical touchstone for the team, ensuring commercial rigor while guiding junior and mid-level CAs through the nuances of the craft.
Job Responsibility:
Commercial Management: Oversee the full project lifecycle, from procurement and subcontract letting to final accounts and variations
Mentorship: Act as a dedicated mentor to junior staff, upskilling them in contract law, negotiation tactics, and financial reporting
Risk Mitigation: Identify potential commercial risks early and implement robust strategies to protect project margins
Head Contract Mastery: Navigate complex contracts with a high level of literacy and confidence
Stakeholder Relations: Maintain the 'reputable' status of the brand by managing subcontractors and clients with integrity and professionalism
Requirements:
8+ years of experience within the Australian commercial construction industry (ideally with a mid-tier or Tier 1 builder)
A comprehensive understanding of building codes, construction sequences, and the SA market
A genuine desire to teach
A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
