Job Description:

Senior Consultant role in Ecosystem Management within RSK Wilding, part of RSK Biocensus and the wider RSK Group. The role involves supporting innovative and strategic solutions across ecological restoration and nature recovery, working with clients to offset carbon emissions and achieve biodiversity net gain through ecological restoration and rewilding across the UK.

Job Responsibility:

  • Advise on and assist with the work of RSK Wilding and RSK Biocensus as a Responsible Body
  • Assist with ecological due diligence reviewing of Statutory Metrics, Gain Site Plans, and Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans
  • Review and conduct assessment of reports, management plans and monitoring data
  • Contribute to overall team and service quality assurance and standards
  • Field survey skills with a focus on UKHab and condition assessments
  • Liaising with team members, wider RSK Biocensus, and clients or 3rd Parties
  • Managing ecological projects, including the timely delivery of reports and survey outputs
  • Client liaison
  • Maintaining project programmes and managing project budgets
  • Contributing to bids and tenders for new work

Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant discipline
  • At least five years’ specific relevant experience since graduating
  • Experience in biodiversity net gain, habitat restoration and nature-based solutions
  • Experience in a field such as agriculture, forestry or environmental landscaping would be an advantage
  • Sound multi-disciplinary background with experience of landscape scale conservation, rewilding, and species reintroduction and recovery
  • Experience in the delivery and management of UK nature conservation
  • High level of botanical knowledge and surveying experience, including UKHab, across a range of habitats
  • Full UK Driving licence and use of own vehicle
  • Ability to communicate appropriate ecological information to ecologists and non-ecologists
  • Problem solving

  • Willing to contribute to the team
