Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist - Power Platform SRE. The role involves working with HSBC Power Platform Foundation, monitoring Microsoft service health, and enabling application deployments while identifying areas for improvement and ensuring compliance with HSBC standards. Responsibilities include managing incidents, providing engineering support, and collaborating with business and technology teams to improve system resilience and performance.

Job Responsibility:

  • Serve as an SRE champion across infrastructure and application improvements
  • Monitor and manage HSBC Power Platform Foundation platform to enable application deployments
  • Monitor Microsoft service health alerts, product update and share with engineering team and business
  • Conduct root cause analysis for underlying issues and incidents that affect systems performance and availability, identifying and resolving errors to minimize re-occurrence
  • Update support and operational documentation as required
  • Monitor Power Platform support request queue, triage and assign to appropriate engineering team
  • Perform engineering activities to implement patches and support software package provided centrally
  • Input and make recommendations for improvement of our monitoring and incident response
  • Work with both technical and non-technical colleagues and ensure business SLI/SLO’s are met and are ever improving
  • Act as a trusted partner for business application owners and other technology teams who seek to make use of Cloud based infrastructure
  • Highlight areas of improvement within our infrastructure design for improved resilience and ensure these changes reach production with assistance from our feature delivery team
  • Maintain and advance deep technical skills and knowledge, keeping up to date with market trends and competitive insights, and share within the technical community
  • Adhere to HSBC standards and Business contingency standards
  • Deliver in self-contained or team environment
  • Provide out of hours coverage as per roster
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required
  • Support non-functional testing.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power, Data Loss Policies, On-Premises Data Gateways, Environments Management, Storage Management, etc)
  • Understanding of Azure Services (e.g. Azure DevOps, Azure Monitor, Azure Health Notification, Azure KeyVault, Application Insight, KQL, vNet, etc.)
  • Proficiency in automation and scripting (e.g. PowerShell, C# and Python)
  • Experience in dealing with multiple support groups that contribute to a service
  • Understanding of CI/CD best practice – coding, tooling and techniques
  • Experience with incident management and problem solving
  • Experience and demonstrable accomplishments in selecting, designing and implementing automation and compliance frameworks
  • Experience with Azure Application maintenance and support
  • Industry recognized cloud certifications. PL-900/PL-400 and AZ-900
  • Experience in multi-tier application architecture, development, deployment and support
