Job Description:

The Senior Consultant Energy Utilities at BCG Platinion leads IT transformation projects for major energy providers, focusing on digitalization and modernization across the energy value chain. The role involves managing complex transformation programs, designing scalable IT architectures, and implementing industry-standard energy software solutions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Take end-to-end responsibility for functional and technical workstreams within transformation programs for energy providers — from strategy and target operating model definition through implementation
  • Lead and steer interdisciplinary delivery teams while coaching consultants and analysts
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable solution designs and sustainable target architectures (use case detailing, capability mapping, requirements engineering, process design, data domains, and flow analyses)
  • Own the architecture and implementation of key energy solutions, including CRM, billing, pricing, forecasting, planning, and logistics systems, as well as digital data platforms
  • Manage transformation programs including roadmap definition, governance setup, stakeholder alignment, and quality assurance
  • Establish and further develop best practices for delivery teams within the energy utilities sector
  • Support proposal development and contribute to the continuous growth of our Energy Utilities portfolio

Requirements:

  • Above-average degree in (business) informatics, business administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in energy utilities, IT implementation projects, or transformation programs across energy sales, networks, or energy IT
  • Experience leading project teams or key workstreams within larger programs
  • Solid experience in the design and implementation of industry-standard energy software solutions (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, Powercloud, SIV, Wilken)
  • Strong understanding of IT architectures in energy utilities, including current trends in data and platform landscapes
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills, including experience building complex business cases
  • Confident communication and stakeholder management skills up to senior management level
  • Fluent in German and English

Nice to have:

Additional language skills in Polish, Czech, or Hungarian are a plus
