Job Description

An excellent opportunity is available with our client and we are looking to connect them with an experienced underwriter to join their team. The role involves underwriting transactional risks in accordance with the binder parameters laid down by their insurer partners.

Job Responsibility

  • Underwriting transactional risks in accordance with binder parameters
  • Quoting new business cases and renewing existing policies primarily on contracting business
  • Quoting new and renewal construction and contracting business for various sections of cover
  • Developing broker and insurer accounts throughout the UK
  • Promoting products to brokers via telephone and broker office meetings
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Maintaining and developing agent relationships
  • Reviewing business issues with broker account managers and supporting resolution as necessary

Requirements

  • At least 2 years liability underwriting experience with an MGA or Insurer preferably in construction liability
  • CII optional
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to trade with agents on individual cases and overall accounts
  • Knowledge of underwriting and administration processes
  • Technical competency to underwrite products to an intermediate level
