Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Commissions Analyst to support commission operations for a team based in Utah. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone who can bring structure, accuracy, and strong analytical judgment to incentive compensation activities. The person in this role will work across sales, finance, and operations teams to ensure payout data is reliable, questions are resolved quickly, and commission processes remain steady in a dynamic environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage the full commission cycle from data review through final payout preparation, ensuring deadlines and accuracy standards are consistently met
  • Examine commission results across platforms such as Excel, Salesforce, and other compensation tools to confirm calculations, investigate variances, and reconcile discrepancies
  • Interpret compensation plans and apply business rules for updates, corrections, exceptions, and payout adjustments as needed
  • Serve as a point of contact for sales and internal partners by addressing commission-related questions and resolving payment concerns with clear supporting detail
  • Detect data quality issues that could affect compensation outcomes and take action to correct root causes before payouts are finalized
  • Provide direction and review support for an entry-level or offshore analyst handling renewal-focused commission activities
  • Collaborate with FP&A and Sales Operations to align reporting, validate source data, and answer compensation-related business questions
  • Maintain operational consistency during a period of team disruption by reinforcing existing workflows and supporting process stability

Requirements

  • Proven experience in business analysis, with the ability to assess processes, identify gaps, and recommend practical solutions
  • Strong background working with commission calculations, incentive compensation analysis, or related financial reconciliation activities
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience using systems such as Salesforce
  • familiarity with commission platforms is helpful
  • Ability to review detailed documentation and data sets with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience supporting internal stakeholders or customer-facing teams and responding professionally to inquiries about complex issues
  • Working knowledge of Agile or Scrum environments and comfort operating in fast-moving, evolving teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate discrepancies and resolve data-related issues independently
