An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Insurance Broker to join a highly skilled technical broking team within one of the most recognised names in the industry. This is a high-impact role offering the chance to work on complex, multi-layered risks while contributing to the servicing and strategic development of key client accounts. Based in Glasgow city centre, the role offers flexible hybrid working alongside the support and collaboration of an established, high-performing team.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver a professional, ethical, and client-focused broking service to major commercial clients
  • Manage complex and multi-layered risks across a diverse portfolio of sectors including: Property Management, Life Sciences, Construction, Manufacturing, Additional commercial industries
  • Provide authoritative technical guidance to clients and colleagues
  • Collaborate with insurers and market partners to secure robust and innovative insurance solutions
  • Support the strategic direction of key accounts
  • Strengthen and maintain long-term client and insurer relationships
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the technical broking function

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ commercial or corporate broking experience
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining strong working relationships
  • Experience handling complex commercial risks
  • Strong technical knowledge across a broad range of commercial insurance classes
  • Experience using Acturis (preferred)
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Professional, ethical and client-centric approach

  • Meet and deliver against your agreed Renewal Retention and/or New Business Targets, contributing towards the teams overall budget targets & KPI’s
  • Ensure you carry out thorough pre renewal reviews with your clients annually, identify customer needs, highlight any shortfalls in cover and advise your client accordingly
  • Conduct a full insurer/market review for your client and then recommend the most suitable policy which protects the customers needs.
  • Invite all policies within regulatory guidelines and ensure policies are renewed, on or before the renewal date.
  • Review client documentation and ensure its accuracy and that it meets the client’s needs.
  • Ensure documents are issued within contract certain timelines.
  • Identify and discuss with your clients any recommended and relevant additional covers
  • Debt Management to ensure all monies are collected and allocated appropriately and keep line manager informed of any current, potential or perceived problems with bad debt.
