Our client, a growing and highly regarded commercial law firm, is seeking a Senior Commercial & Data Privacy Solicitor to join its expanding team in London. The firm advises entrepreneurial businesses, high-growth companies and established SMEs, providing commercially focused legal support across a broad range of sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Solicitor looking to combine high-quality commercial contracts work with specialist data protection and privacy advice within a modern and collaborative environment. The Opportunity: You will advise clients on a wide range of commercial and technology matters, working closely with business owners, leadership teams and in-house stakeholders. The role offers significant client contact, varied work and the opportunity to play an active part in the continued growth of the practice.

Job Responsibility

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, including supply agreements, terms and conditions, agency and distribution agreements, introducer agreements and outsourcing arrangements
  • Advising on SaaS agreements, software licences, technology contracts and wider commercial arrangements
  • Providing day-to-day advice on UK GDPR and UK data protection compliance
  • Drafting privacy policies, data processing agreements and cookie policies
  • Advising on data subject access requests (DSARs), international data transfers, controller and processor arrangements, electronic marketing and special category data
  • Supporting corporate transactions with commercial and data protection input where required
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships while contributing to business development initiatives

Requirements

  • Strong commercial contracts experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of UK GDPR and data protection law
  • Experience advising on technology and software agreements
  • Strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills
  • A commercial and pragmatic approach to problem-solving
