In this role, you’ll support Deliveroo and Wolt businesses in France, the Benelux and the Baltics, partnering closely with business stakeholders to solve complex legal and commercial challenges.

Job Responsibility

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of high-value commercial agreements across multiple international markets (agreements with merchants or vendors)
  • Conduct legal risk assessments and advise internal teams (Operations, Marketing, Commercial, Finance, Product) to help them navigate complex legal landscapes and achieve business priorities at pace
  • Monitor regulatory developments across in-scope countries and where relevant support the rollout of compliance programs

Requirements

  • Fully qualified lawyer in France (or a common law jurisdiction with extensive French market experience) with at least 6 years post-qualification experience
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English and French, with the ability to operate across international teams daily
  • A strong technical foundation notably in commercial, contractual and consumer law built within a leading private practice law firm, coupled with proven experience in an in-house environment
  • A track-record of turning complex legal analysis into clear, coherent business-facing advice
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships, influence senior leaders, work cross-functionally across a fast-paced, matrixed global organisation and deep-dive across a wide variety of topics and products
  • Strong judgment with an ability to weigh legal risk against commercial priorities to provide solutions-driven legal advice

Nice to have

  • Working knowledge of competition law
  • Familiarity with regulatory law, e.g. payment services regulations
  • Prior in-house experience within a fast-paced, high-growth tech business or a US-owned/internationally-managed company
  • Experience advising in the other in-scope countries (Belgium, Luxembourg, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia)

What we offer

  • Paternity and maternity support
  • Excellent learning and development opportunities and access to RooLearn, our learning platform, packed with high-quality training and content
  • Regular social events such as sports, breakfasts and occasional aperitifs
  • Headspace membership
  • Subsidised health insurance, with option to add family
  • Discounted access to Gymlib
  • Subsidised Navigo subscriptions for sustainable transport
  • Subsidy if you use a 'green' vehicle to commute
  • 25 days annual leave plus complementary rest days per year, which increase with length of time at the company
  • One day of paid leave per year to volunteer with a registered charity
  • Free Deliveroo Plus subscription
  • Monthly restaurant vouchers
  • Team lunches from the best local restaurants
  • Some roles may be eligible for share awards
  • Depending on role and location, some employees may be eligible for an annual cash bonus, sign-on bonus or relocation support
