Job Description:

We’re seeking a Senior Commercial Business Partner to provide project performance insights across Aurecon’s operations. In this pivotal role, you’ll partner with Regional and Functional Leadership teams to enable informed decision-making, improve commercial acumen, and drive operational and financial outcomes. You’ll play a key role in ensuring robust pricing analysis, forecasting, and commercial management processes are in place. From opportunity management and project setup to revenue recognition and working capital strategies, you’ll help shape the commercial success of Aurecon’s most complex projects.

Job Responsibility:

  • Partner with leadership and operational teams to provide advice, analysis, and insights that support performance and strategic objectives
  • Deliver commercial insight to opportunity management processes, including pricing support for bids and variations
  • Guide Project Managers on project setup, variation management, and forecasting for high-complexity projects
  • Ensure robust commercial review processes for revenue recognition, cash flow, and cost-to-complete assessments
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends and implement initiatives that drive business success
  • Drive positive working capital outcomes and provide actionable insights to improve performance
  • Act as a subject matter expert for Workday, Enterprise Reporting, Dynamics, and Project Delivery tools, providing training and support
  • Educate and mentor Project Managers to enhance commercial acumen across the business

Requirements:

  • Accounting/financial background with relevant tertiary qualification (CA/CPA preferred)
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within professional services or consulting
  • Strong proficiency in pricing, forecasting, and revenue recognition processes
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust
  • Proven ability to design and deliver effective training programs
  • Demonstrated success in supporting finance/commercial initiatives aligned to business strategy
  • Attention to detail combined with a strategic perspective on financial and operational drivers
