As a Senior Machinist, you will play a key part in producing high‑precision parts and components while ensuring our workshop runs efficiently day to day. Based on site at our Westhill, Aberdeen facility, you will oversee workload planning, delegate tasks to machinists and workshop assistants, and take a hands‑on role in setting up and operating machinery. Monitoring performance, upholding quality standards, and actively look for opportunities to improve workshop processes will be key. Collaboration with other departments is central to the role, helping support the development of new products and contributing to the continual advancement of our manufacturing capabilities.
Job Responsibility:
Operate and maintain various types of machinery to produce precision parts
Set up machines according to specifications and ensure they are functioning efficiently and loads correct specified material into the machine
Monitor machine performance and adjust as needed
Ensure the quality of produced parts by conducting inspections and tests
Maintain accurate records of machine operations and maintenance performed
Adhere to company policies and procedures, including health, safety, and quality standards
Oversee workload planning, delegate tasks to machinists and workshop assistants
Take a hands‑on role in setting up and operating machinery
Monitor performance, uphold quality standards, and actively look for opportunities to improve workshop processes
Collaborate with other departments to support the development of new products and contribute to the continual advancement of our manufacturing capabilities
Requirements:
Completed a Recognised apprenticeship or training programme in a Technical discipline to a minimum of SVQ qualification (or equivalent nationally recognised qualification) or have equivalent industry experience with the machining environment
Supervisory experience
Knowledge of QA and Health and Safety within the work environment
Experience with Mazak and or Hass CNC machines
Experience of manual lathes and milling machine operations
