Location: Canberra ACT Initial Contract: 12 months contract + 2 12 months extension options Must be Australian Citizen with minimum of NV1 Clearance FinXL is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to join a critical Cloud Platforms Section within a major Federal Government department. In this role, you will serve as a Cloud Automation Engineer, providing essential planning, development, and implementation services to support a complex Azure and AWS Multi-Cloud environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated solutions for cloud infrastructure provisioning and configuration
  • Develop and maintain IaC using tools such as Bicep, ARM templates, and Azure PowerShell
  • Automate deployment pipelines and CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps
  • Provide high-level management and support for end-users across Azure and AWS offerings
  • Implement best practices for cloud security, compliance, and cost management
  • Work with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions
  • Maintain high-quality documentation of cloud architectures and procedures

Requirements

  • Must be Australian Citizen with minimum of NV1 Clearance
  • Proven experience as an Azure, AWS, or Multi-Cloud Engineer
  • Strong knowledge of cloud services and architecture
  • Expertise in scripting (PowerShell) and IaC tools (Bicep, ARM, or AWS CloudFormation)
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools including Azure DevOps and Git
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts in cloud environments and troubleshooting skills
