Job Description:

Fixed Term: 4 months | 32 hrs per week | ST3+ level or equivalent. We're offering exciting opportunities for senior clinical fellows in paediatric emergency medicine. The posts offer opportunity to gain valuable experience in a wide range of paediatric emergency presentations and would be relevant for those pursuing a career in emergency medicine or paediatrics in the future.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide clinical care on the CT3+ Resident Doctors rota, including nights and weekends
  • Work closely with PEM consultants and the multidisciplinary team
  • Contribute to clinical leadership, education, and supervision of junior colleagues
  • Maintain accurate clinical records
  • Participate in departmental audits, QI projects, and teaching sessions

Requirements:

  • Full GMC Registration
  • MBBS / MBChB or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years postgraduate medical experience
  • Paediatrics and / or emergency medicine at ST1-3 level (or equivalent) for at least 12 months
  • Demonstrable ability to work independently within UK healthcare settings, including familiarity with NHS clinical processes, policies, and governance frameworks
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication skills with children, families, and colleagues
  • Awareness of safeguarding and child protection principles
  • Knowledge of clinical governance and audit processes
  • Understanding of the principles of clinical audit and quality improvement
  • Evidence of participation in audit or quality improvement projects
  • Ability to deliver effective teaching and feedback
  • Use of evidence-based practice
  • Demonstrates a commitment to child-centred care

  • APLS / EPLS / ATLS or equivalent

  • Supervise and support junior doctors, clinical fellows, trainee ACPs, and medical students, fostering a positive learning environment
  • Contribute to achieving national Emergency Department Quality Indicators and maintaining patient flow
