Job Description

Montefiore has a rare opportunity for a Senior Clinical Dietitian to join our well-resourced Allied Health Department. You will complement and provide leadership to our existing close-knit Dietetics and Speech Pathology team, work closely with our Speech Pathologists, and partner with our Food Service Dietitian and Catering leadership to support high quality nutrition and mealtime care across three campuses.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide visible leadership and support to the Dietetics and Dietary Coordinator team in quality improvement, policy alignment and governance functions
  • Provide advanced clinical dietetic care for residents with complex nutrition needs
  • Lead and model best practice clinical dietetic care for residents with complex nutrition needs, while supporting other team members through case discussion, mentoring and supervision
  • Work closely with the Dietetics and Speech Pathology Manager on service development, orientation and training, and alignment with the Montefiore Experience and organisational policies
  • Build strong relationships with Clinical and Catering Teams to ensure coordinated, person directed food, nutrition and mealtime care across all neighbourhoods and sites
  • Participate in projects that enhance resident wellbeing and align with our core values of Choice, Dignity, and Respect

Requirements

  • Bachelor or postgraduate degree in dietetics (or nutrition and dietetics) or equivalent
  • Eligibility for full membership with Dietitians Australia
  • Minimum of five years' experience
  • Previous experience providing clinical supervision
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Effective time management/prioritisation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships in an interdisciplinary setting
  • Willingness to travel across sites as per operational requirements

Nice to have

  • Clinical nutrition experience, preferably in an Aged Care setting
  • Ability to build effective relationships in an interdisciplinary setting
  • Ability to identify opportunities for, initiate and complete quality activities
  • Current driver’s license and own car

  • Directs, plans, and manages the development and implementation of clinical nutrition and operational quality standards for both inpatient and/or outpatient nutrition services
  • Collaborates with hospital administration, medical staff, nursing, and other allied health care professionals at both the system and site level
  • Serves as the site nutrition expert on all nutrition-related matters
  • Actively participates in the Advocate Health Midwest Region Clinical Nutrition Committee (CNC) to design, develop, implement, and evaluate new clinical practices and programs
