Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Climate Resilience team to play a leading role in delivering the Council’s commitments and strategic outcomes on climate change and the environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead on and support the development and delivery of actions set out in the Climate Resilience Delivery Plan
  • Support the development and delivery of environmental policies and strategies
  • Be responsible for line managing a small dedicated team
  • Work in partnership with both internal and external partners and stakeholders, while building and maintaining effective working relationships
  • Produce technical and non-technical reports, that require the analyses and interpretation of data and information
  • Present reports to a range of audiences, including elected members

Requirements:

  • Relevant environmental qualification(s) or equivalent work experience in an environmental area
  • Experience of developing and delivering environmental policies and strategies
  • Experience of successfully developing and managing projects and initiatives
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data and information to produce technical and non-technical reports
  • Ability and confidence to develop and present reports and presentations to a diverse range of audiences
  • Ability to work with a range of partners and stakeholders, and of building and maintaining effective working relationships
  • Experience of managing staff
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage complex processes and have excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work within tight timescales whilst working under pressure
  • Ability to speak fluent English
