We are looking for a Senior Claims Technician who can accurately process claims and technical data, support month‑ and quarter‑end work, handle queries confidently and provide guidance to the team while working to set procedures, service levels and regulatory standards.
Job Responsibility:
Process claims, reinsurance and technical data in line with the applicable procedure guides, for both manual and system processing
Analyse technical data and calculate technical transactions including limits, premiums, claims, reserves and deductions, as well as maintaining effective logging and payment management
Manage internal and external queries to facilitate the accuracy and efficiency of data processing
Provide effective training, support and guidance to team members in regards to technical expertise
Manage and prioritise own workload effectively
Contribute to the production of internal and external (client) reporting, with particular focus on month and quarter end reporting
Process claims, reinsurance and technical data on a timely and accurate basis adhering to the applicable accuracy targets of 95% and Contractual Service Level Agreements per client / service
Operate in line with the flexible working guidelines to accommodate peaks and troughs, able to balance routine and busy periods, particularly month and quarter ends
Operate in line with all PoloWorks policies and guidelines
Take responsibility and ownership of personal development seeking opportunities to develop knowledge and competence
Requirements:
Preferred experience within insurance required
Great attention to detail with focus on service delivery and client experience
Good verbal and written communication skills
Able to work independently and collaborate with team members to provide effective feedback
Great organisation skills and priority management skills
Work lawfully and in accordance with regulatory, compliance and financial requirements including Data Protection, Code of conduct, health & safety, FCA and Lloyd’s regulations
Work in line with the applicable client / service specific procedure guides
Sufficient MS Office, Word, PowerPoint & Excel skills
Able to provide effective training, support and guidance to team members
Minimum 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 and above including Maths and English Language
Sufficient MS Office, Word and Excel skills
Willing to study for the relevant CII qualifications
