Job Description

Are you a senior claims handler with experience of handling commercial property and liability claims? Do you want to work for a broker rather than insurer? Would you like an above market salary to work with a leading insurance broking Group?

Job Responsibility

  • Efficiently handle all claims allocated to you and be responsible for a designated caseload handling claims from cradle to grave and liaising extensively with clients, insurers, claimants, policyholders, brokers and other experts
  • Refer claims that fall outside of personal authority levels to your line manager
  • Gather and process information, as directed, to support the effective assessment of more complex cases
  • Assist in the training of new or inexperienced staff in the use of company systems and processes
  • To maintain and develop personal knowledge and skills through continued professional development as well as ongoing desk training and ensuring that this is recorded in line with Training & Competency requirements
  • To always conduct the business of the company courteously and efficiently
  • The job holder will, at various times act for the insured and the insurer

Requirements

  • An experienced claims handler, confident handling property and liability claims
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise work efficiently to Service Level Agreements whilst ensuring high attention to detail
  • Broad Experience of Property (Commercial and Domestic
  • Employer’s Liability and Public Liability claims is essential
  • Motor experience is preferred but not essential
  • Cert CII/CILA (or is prepared to work towards this qualification)
  • Proficient in Microsoft products (namely Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in Acturis Broker Platform (or is quick to adapt to new claims systems)
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and relationship-building skills
  • Customer care experience
