Our Water Group in Victoria has developed strong, long‑term relationships across the water market and maintains a robust pipeline of work. We continue to focus on expanding our capability across a broad range of disciplines, enabling us to support our water clients through a diverse mix of skills, experience, and perspectives. We are seeking a motivated Senior Civil Engineering professionals to join our expanding Victorian Water Group to assist on our water infrastructure projects based in our Melbourne office. Our projects span the lifecycle of project delivery from feasibility studies through to detailed design packages for construction.
Job Responsibility
Plan, program and coordinate specific projects with the Project Manager to deliver the agreed outputs on budget, on time and to quality standards
Manage and assist in the civil engineering design, design management, and project management from planning, feasibility/concept design, detailed design, and construction support of water and wastewater infrastructure as lead or member of a larger team
Perform broad, varied and diverse water and wastewater infrastructure engineering design tasks, including engineering drawings, engineering reports, presentations, and required applications to regulatory and/or funding agencies
Engage in the development of conceptual, preliminary and detailed design through produce engineering calculations, sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats, and prepare documentation in various civil phases including site plans, utility plan/profiles, grading plans, cross sections, diagrams, submittal reviews and response to information requests as required
Prepare portions of engineering project proposals, change orders, client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects
Coordinate technical activities and designs with personnel in other disciplines and departments serve as a liaison between senior engineer and design team
Ensure all technical outputs conform to the project scope, are safe and are of appropriate quality (confirmed by independent review)
Actively participate in Stantec Information sharing network including knowledge forums and other such initiatives that the Company may promote from time to time
Contribute to proposal and bid development to support business development activities, including preparing proposal material as required
Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Engineering – Civil or Environmental Engineering or equivalent
Chartership or working towards is highly regarded
6 years’ experience in consulting or engineering
Previous experience in the water industry is highly regarded
Proven design experience in the water and wastewater industry
Strong technical experience in potable water supply, gravity and pumped sewerage systems, and recycled water networks
Experience in water and wastewater treatment plants for regional and urban water authorities (highly desirable but not essential)
Expertise in dealing with a range of clients and stakeholders including local authorities, government bodies and commercial companies
