With a strong pipeline of water supply and sewerage projects for key Queensland water authorities, this role offers the chance to contribute locally while also engaging in projects across the wider APAC region. Shape the future of water infrastructure across Queensland and the APAC region. As a Senior Civil Engineer , you will provide professional engineering skills in the areas of water and wastewater infrastructure along with the following: Lead the delivery of multidisciplinary projects and the civil engineering direction of major water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Assist with developing and managing the project scope including cost estimates, budget, staffing and schedule. Work collaboratively with colleagues across Australia and the wider Asia pacific business. Partner with a diverse client base from local government, industry and private development. Mentor and develop junior engineers, strengthening capability and fostering a high-performance, growth-oriented team culture. Lead by example, delivering all work in line with Stantec’s Core Values and commitment to excellence.

  • Lead the delivery of multidisciplinary projects and the civil engineering direction of major water and wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Assist with developing and managing the project scope including cost estimates, budget, staffing and schedule

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related discipline
  • Chartership / RPEQ achieved or actively working toward professional accreditation
  • 5–12 years’ experience in consulting or engineering roles within the water industry, with a proven track record of delivering high‑quality technical outcomes
  • Strong technical experience in potable water supply, gravity and pumped sewerage systems, and recycled water networks
  • Experience in water and wastewater treatment plants for regional and urban water authorities (highly desirable but not essential)
  • Expertise with dealing with a range of clients and stakeholders including local authorities, government bodies and commercial companies
