Job Description:

Senior Engineer - Contract position in Caboolture, Queensland. 6 Month Contract with flexible pay rate. Duties include providing specialist advice on development matters, leading assessment of development applications, and building relationships with stakeholders.

Job Responsibility:

Provide specialist advice on moderately complex development matters relating to transport and stormwater infrastructure as well as flood and storm tide inundation hazard
Lead the assessment of moderately complex development applications in line with legislative, policy and business requirements
Provide specialist engineering advice and input into the development assessment process and the recovery of the cost of infrastructure, including negotiation of moderately complex infrastructure agreements
Undertake site inspections and investigations to support the engineering assessment of development applications including resolution of transport and stormwater issues
Provide technical oversight and guidance to Engineers in the review and assessment of development applications to ensure assessment outcomes and deliverables are met
Contribute to a positive team environment in order to achieve a high performance, continuous improvement and customer focused culture
Build strong relationships across a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality services outcomes are achieved

Requirements:

Comprehensive knowledge and experience in the delivery of engineering assessment and compliance services
Comprehensive knowledge in the principles and practices relating to the planning, design and construction of transport and stormwater infrastructure
Comprehensive knowledge of the State Planning Policy, the SEQ Regional Plan, the Planning scheme, and the Adopted Infrastructure Charge Resolution
Demonstrated experience applying relevant planning and development legislation and policy
Demonstrated experience providing technical oversight and direction to Engineers
Strong communication skills to meet the needs of a range of internal and external stakeholders with the ability to work in a positive team environment communicating and engaging effectively at all levels
Strong influencing skills and the ability to negotiate moderately complex infrastructure and other commercial agreements
