Job Responsibility:
Run and take full ownership of your designated kitchen section, ensuring consistently high standards
Step up to support the Sous Chef in their absence, overseeing wider kitchen operations as needed
Contribute to menu development, specials and seasonal changes alongside the senior kitchen team
Mentor and develop CDPs, Commis - lead by example on the pass and on section
Assist with pastry production and dessert preparation as needed
Manage stock levels, supplier quality and waste reduction within your section
Ensure your section meets all food safety, hygiene and health and safety regulations at all times
Keep preparation ahead of service and maintain a clean, organised section throughout
Requirements:
Minimum of 2–3 years' experience as a CDP in a hotel, restaurant or high-volume professional kitchen
Can confidently run any section independently with minimal supervision
Has working knowledge of pastry and dessert preparation
Demonstrates leadership ability and a genuine interest in developing junior team members
Shows strong organisational skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
Has solid food safety knowledge (Level 2 Food Hygiene or above preferred)
Communicates effectively in English, both spoken and written
