Job Responsibility

  • Run and take full ownership of your designated kitchen section, ensuring consistently high standards
  • Step up to support the Sous Chef in their absence, overseeing wider kitchen operations as needed
  • Contribute to menu development, specials and seasonal changes alongside the senior kitchen team
  • Mentor and develop CDPs, Commis - lead by example on the pass and on section
  • Assist with pastry production and dessert preparation as needed
  • Manage stock levels, supplier quality and waste reduction within your section
  • Ensure your section meets all food safety, hygiene and health and safety regulations at all times
  • Keep preparation ahead of service and maintain a clean, organised section throughout

Requirements

  • Has a minimum of 2–3 years' experience as a CDP in a hotel, restaurant or high-volume professional kitchen
  • Can confidently run any section independently with minimal supervision
  • Has working knowledge of pastry and dessert preparation
  • Demonstrates leadership ability and a genuine interest in developing junior team members
  • Shows strong organisational skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Has solid food safety knowledge (Level 2 Food Hygiene or above preferred)
  • Communicates effectively in English, both spoken and written
