Job Description:

A leading private university in Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Cerner Application Developer to support its medical enterprise. This role is responsible for leading and resolving complex Cerner application, CCL customization, and reporting initiatives. The ideal candidate will work independently while leading advanced system activities, collaborating with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and leadership to design, develop, and support Cerner-based solutions. This position plays a key role in system performance optimization, data architecture, reporting, and application development, with opportunities to mentor junior staff and contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop standard and ad hoc reports using Cerner CCL and Discern/PowerInsight
  • Design and implement custom/non-standard reporting solutions
  • Create and manage operational jobs and monitor scheduled and ad hoc report delivery
  • Integrate reporting data into enterprise analytics platforms
  • Independently manage complex system activities across projects and operational support
  • Serve as a technical resource for Cerner application build, design, and infrastructure
  • Maintain expertise in Cerner CCL and growing mastery of the Cerner data model
  • Develop custom mPages, XR templates, and ad hoc CCL customizations
  • Support DA2 and PowerInsight security and provisioning
  • Analyze business requirements, events, and documentation to design effective solutions
  • Perform gap analysis and define system scope and objectives
  • Recommend and implement technical solutions using strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree, 9 years of relevant experience required
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in a healthcare IT environment
  • Strong hands-on experience with Cerner CCL
  • Strong experience with Discern and PowerInsight
  • Minimum 1 year of Cerner data modeling experience
  • Consulting or project management experience preferred
