This Senior Category Manager IT position is a strategic leadership role based in Bella Vista Sydney on a hybrid basis. The role sits within the Global Supplier Alliance procurement function of a global medical device and digital health company. You will be responsible for managing approximately 100M in IT spend within a broader 240M portfolio focusing specifically on cloud and IT infrastructure.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and own IT category strategies that align with Global Technology Solutions objectives
Partner with senior IT stakeholders to understand current and future technology requirements
Lead sourcing activity including RFPs and supplier selection
Lead commercial negotiations for large and complex enterprise contracts
Drive AWS cloud strategy and execute cloud cost optimisation initiatives
Improve supplier governance and performance management to drive accountability and value
Provide leadership to a small globally distributed procurement team
Requirements:
Strong background in IT procurement or technology category management
Direct experience with AWS or cloud based contracts
Proven history of managing large scale spend with 100M plus preferred
Experience leading or mentoring a procurement team
Ability to operate in ambiguous or evolving environments
Real ownership of IT procurement categories rather than support or advisory experience
Cloud and infrastructure exposure with commercial accountability
Strong stakeholder management with senior IT leadership
