Job Description:

This position is in the Global Procurement organization, reporting to the Raw Materials Regional Sourcing Leader for India. The buyer in this role is responsible for all procurement activities related to the India Materials & Tolling/Custom Manufacturing agreements, supporting local and remotely located Category Leaders/Regional Sourcing Leaders with Buyer activities such as procurement plans, bidding, SAP reporting, data analysis and managing supplier and internal client relationships.

Job Responsibility:

  • Take ownership for planning and prioritizing work activities to manage a balance of short term tactics with long term commitments
  • Monitor delivery progress against expectations
  • Take initiatives to pursue cost reduction and / or service improvement opportunities
  • Grow the scope of the role in a way that is well-aligned with global Raw Materials & Tolling/Custom Manufacturing team and / or functional objectives
  • Responsible for maintaining progress on multiple tasks
  • Manage agreement acquisitions
  • Plan for success and remove obstacles that are preventing progress
  • Build client & supplier relationships at the operational and tactical levels of interaction
  • Make positive impact on the image suppliers have of Infineum based on relationship building, competency, and the delivery against expectations
  • Collaborate with the Client and Supplier and leverage knowledge of the operation to negotiate terms and conditions, improve service level and follow-up on performance issues
  • Negotiate and administer new and existing agreements in an effective, accurate and timely manner
  • Support Category Leaders and Regional Sourcing Leader to understand the marketplace drivers, negotiation leverage & positioning, and negotiate best available market pricing to meet internal client needs for India Raw Materials and Tolling/Custom Manufacturing services
  • Administer formal bid processes from RFx to contract execution and facilitate set up of payment mechanisms in accordance with the Procurement Control Processes
  • Work with Law and Finance to review/finalize agreement terms & conditions
  • Use historical and forecast numbers as well as market information to analyze operational and business data, to formulate procurement plan spend proposals and GARP endorsements
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams at multiple levels and communicate effectively to ensure all procurement requirements are met
  • Ensure consistency and compliance with Procurement Control Processes, Infineum business controls & ethics requirements
  • Support to our Logistics Procurement cluster (estimated 20% of the time) in the following area (but not limited to): Responsible as day-to-day operational focal point with Client function, supporting relationships with vendors and contributing to appropriate short-term resolution of supply exceptions for goods / materials / services within contract portfolio
  • Support Category and sourcing leaders in operational discussions with vendors
  • Working with the Regional Sourcing Leader (in UK) to understand the marketplace drivers, Infineum leverage, positioning, etc., and using these to the advantage of Infineum to negotiate best available market pricing for goods / materials / services acquisition
  • Any additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in engineering or science (e.g. Chemical Engineering, Chemistry) preferred with at least 10 years of Procurement experience
  • Good market knowledge especially in India related to our industry
  • Knowledge of basic chemical manufacturing unit operations
  • Negotiation skills and general commercial awareness
  • Familiarity with financial or other business controls systems
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills, including ability to read & understand legal documents (e.g. agreement terms and conditions)
  • Interpersonal skills to provide influence in cross functional teams
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to deliver against multiple targets, competing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work without close supervision and with confidence while representing Procurement internally and Infineum externally
  • Knowledge of IT systems such as SAP HANA, SharePoint, Business Warehouse, and Ariba
  • Proficiency in tools such as: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
