Job Description:

Dovehaven Care Homes are recruiting for a Senior Care Assistant to join our team at Pennine View Residential Home, Accrington, Working DAYS - 12-hour shifts on a rota basis - 8am - 8pm - alternate weekend availability required. Pennine View is a residential care home catering for up to 50 residents. The home specialises in dementia care. The home is to be maintained to very high standard and our team will provide a secure, happy and welcoming atmosphere for all residents and visitors.

Job Responsibility:

  • Managing the care team within the Home
  • ensuring that care staff are adhering to CQC guidelines whilst providing exceptional levels of care to residents
  • promoting and delivering high standards of care
  • supervising and instructing less experienced staff to enable them to fully contribute to the care provided within the Home

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and written skills
  • Previous experience working within an elderly care setting
  • Self-motivated, resilient and well-organised
  • Team player but able to work on your own initiative
  • Dependable, able to work well under pressure and flexible to meet the needs of the Home
  • Previous supervisory experience within a care/nursing home setting and experience of working with the elderly
  • An NVQ level 3 in health & social care is essential along with a dedicated passion for providing exceptional care.

  • Participate in the development of activities and daycare programmes for residents in which they can join and which will enhance their quality of life
  • Help to ensure that the preparation, cooking and serving of food meet the required standards in respect of nutrition, environmental health etc.
  • Assist with ensuring that bedrooms and communal areas are properly cleaned and maintained and adequately heated in accordance with the requirements
  • Ensure that you maintain the Environmental Cleaning Schedule and checklist found in the Infection Control and Cleaning File
