Job Description:

Dovehaven Care Homes are recruiting for a Senior Care Assistant to join our team in Garden Lodge Residential Home, Netherley, Liverpool. Working four Days a week, shifts are 12hrs working 7am-7pm, with everyother weekend required. 44hr Contracts available. Garden Lodge is a residential care home catering for up to 48 residents. The home is divided into two units, one of which specialises in dementia care. Our aim is to ensure all our residents feel as comfortable as possible. Our homes promote independence, dignity and respect through positive risk taking and empowerment.

Job Responsibility:

Demonstrate compassion, empathy and a person-centred approach to caring for older people
Self-motivated, resilient and well-organised
Able to work well under pressure and flexible to meet the needs of the residents and the Home
Provide assistance, personal care, activities and companionship to residents
Be alert to residents’ needs, health and wellbeing
Respect the residents’ dignity and privacy
Work with residents and their families to deliver tailored care to each individual
Assist with mealtimes and safe moving
Maintain accurate records for each resident
Managing the care team within the Home
Ensuring that care staff are adhering to CQC guidelines whilst providing exceptional levels of care to residents
Promote and deliver high standards of care
Supervise and support less experienced staff to enable them to fully contribute to the care provided within the Home

Requirements:

Excellent communication and written skills
Committed to providing a high standard of care, promoting dignity and respect
Previous experience working within an elderly care setting
Team player but able to work on your own initiative
Dependable, able to work well under pressure and flexible to meet the needs of the Home
Previous supervisory experience within a care/nursing home setting and experience of working with the elderly
A minimum of a NVQ level 2 in health & social care along with a dedicated passion for providing exceptional care
