Job Description

Senior Care Assistant role in a well-established elderly care home in Garforth, supporting residents with high-quality, person-centred elderly care. Part-time, 24 hours per week with a fixed two week working pattern (includes alternate weekends).

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver outstanding elderly care in line with person-centred care plans
  • Lead and support Care Assistants on shift
  • Complete and review care plans and risk assessments
  • Monitor resident wellbeing and respond to changes in condition
  • Liaise with families and healthcare professionals
  • Support medication management and ordering
  • Participate in on-call duties (as part of a rota)
  • Ensure compliance with CQC standards and elderly care regulations
  • Conduct supervisions, audits, and support staff development

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in health and social care
  • At least 1 year's experience within a care home (elderly care essential)
  • Level 2 Health & Social Care (essential)
  • Level 3 Health & Social Care (desirable or willing to work towards)
  • Experience at Senior Care Assistant level within elderly care
  • Strong communication and leadership skills

  • Complete, observe & review care planning needs for Residents, and complete written daily records as instructed and in line with the Company's policies and procedures
  • Assist in framework of social activities by interacting with Residents and helping them continue with hobbies and activities in the Home
  • Answer Nurse call system, giving assistance as required
