Job Description:

Randstad is excited to support one of our clients, located in Burlington, in their search for an AutoCAD Drafter / Designer to join their expanding team. Our client has had year-on-year growth and are therefore looking to bring on an individual who is passionate about growing and developing within their career. Our client is committed to innovation and and is proud to house state of the art technology.

Job Responsibility:

  • Create, edit, and modify AutoCAD drawings based on design provided by engineers
  • Develop and read reinforced concrete and steel drawings as well as mechanical and shop drawings
  • Collaborate with engineers and shop and construction operations to meet fabrication and constructability requirements
  • Foundation Layout Plans
  • Structural Specifications and Notes
  • Steel Structure Fabrication Drawings
  • Steel Connection Details
  • Concrete Foundation Detail Drawings
  • Assist with design tasks including calculations, load rating, structural modeling and analyses, detailing, quantity and cost estimates with supervision from a senior engineer

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Civil/Mechanical/Architectural/Construction or related field
  • 6+ years experience minimum with AutoCAD (out of university. University experience of AutoCAD won't be considered)
  • Experience with structural steel, reinforced concrete
  • Understanding of engineering principles, assembly, fabrication, and construction
  • Experience with Quantity Take-Offs an asset
  • Proficient use of Inventor or SolidWorks is highly advantageous
  • Experience with Mechanical design an asset

  • Work closely with Electrical Engineering to produce drawings
  • Produce AutoCAD system prints, cable drawings, and top-level electrical assemblies/installations
  • Use system prints to generate Excel wirelists to aid manufacturing
  • Provide support to manufacturing by resolving design and documentation issues
  • Document changes to electrical drawings by creating engineering change documents
  • Support Electrical Engineering with development of presentation materials for customer meetings
  • Support customer events such as configuration audits
  • Work with other ECAD drafters to develop comprehensive electrical designs
