Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to join our team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in managing procurement activities to support manufacturing operations. This role requires a proactive approach to sourcing, vendor management, and ensuring the smooth flow of materials and services essential to production.

Job Responsibility:

  • Source and acquire raw materials, components, and services necessary for manufacturing operations
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost-effectiveness and favorable agreements
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key vendors to ensure consistent reliability and quality
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with planning and production teams to prevent material shortages
  • Analyze market trends to identify alternative suppliers and mitigate risks
  • Manage purchase orders, ensuring they are accurate and delivered on time
  • Address and resolve supplier issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing concerns
  • Support new product launches by selecting suppliers and ensuring material availability
  • Track and report cost savings, supplier performance, and key procurement metrics
  • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and established procurement procedures

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement roles, preferably in manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing, vendor negotiation, and contract management
  • Proven ability to analyze inventory levels and forecast material needs
  • Familiarity with market trends and supplier evaluation processes
  • Experience in managing purchase orders and resolving supplier performance issues
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • Proficiency in tracking and reporting procurement metrics
  • Understanding of compliance standards and procurement policies
