We are currently recruiting for a Senior Buyer for our Pep&Co clothing brand in Watford. The vacancy is a 12 month FTC and offers flexibility for hybrid working. The Senior Buyer will lead the Menswear category and be responsible for delivering great product ranges, and achieving sales, profit and intake margin targets. This is fantastic opportunity to grow the Menswear brand through gaining understanding our customer and brand and by sourcing, developing product and buying ranges for the department that offer quality and value.
Job Responsibility:
Work closely with design to agree trends using trend, supplier and shopping information
Understand clothing product trends and interpreting them commercially for the customer
Work with design to develop product direct to factories
Developing the right product at the right time, in line with the departmental design brief to meet customer requirements
Manage the Critical Path from concept through to buying
Work closely with QA to develop block and fit that reflects design input and customer trends
Communicate clearly to Suppliers and factories all requirements on design briefs
Maintain awareness of current business priorities to ensure department strategy is aligned. Ability to input into topline business strategy
Develop strategy for your department demonstrating big product and customer opportunities for your department to deliver financial targets
Present strategy to senior management for sign off
Determine pricing strategy and price point policy for ranges in conjunction with Merchandiser
Review of product development samples to ensure product is correct to design, quality and price objectives
Negotiates prices with Suppliers and factories to deliver margin targets
decisions reacting to growing or declining trend to ensure the range is relevant
Lead the weekly trade process review to ensure all best & worse sellers are labelled accurately
Ongoing review of new product and trading opportunities including trials to maximise OTB
Requirements:
Previous experience of working as a Senior Buyer or Buyer within Menswear clothing
Previous of buying of buying across multiple category areas in Menswear
Proven success in developing, buying and negotiating a clothing range in a fast paced environment
A proven commercial eye to spot trends and interpreting them to buy commercial ranges
Ability to develop and build a comprehensive product range
Experience of developing and implementing departmental and Business strategy
Ability to put together a comprehensive and clear design brief
Knowledge of clothing sourcing and product costings
