To lead, develop and implement the buying and product development strategy for the Home category in line with the overarching business strategy. Ensure a highly curated, premium assortment that reflects the brand’s heritage, quality standards, and customer expectations. The role is responsible for end-to-end product lifecycle management — from concept and sourcing through to launch and in-season trading — driving commercial performance, innovation, and brand differentiation.
Job Responsibility:
Define and own the Home buying strategy aligned with brand vision, customer insight, and commercial targets across all channels
Build and maintain a balanced, luxury assortment across categories such as tableware, serve ware, gifting, kitchen accessories, candles, linens, and seasonal ranges
Lead seasonal range planning, open-to-buy management, and margin delivery
Ownership of the buying calendar
Identify white-space opportunities, emerging trends, and category extensions that complement the luxury food offer
Lead new product development (NPD), including own-label, exclusive, and collaborative ranges
Lead the development of the product offer for your categories, ensuring that clear strategies and commercial plans are developed, implemented, and executed to drive strong sales growth, profit and excellent quality standards, as well as supporting our sustainability agenda
Translate brand DNA into compelling product concepts with clear design, material, quality, and packaging direction
Manage product briefs, critical paths, costings, and timelines from concept to launch
Prepare and present ROI proposals for sign off with merchandising
Ensure all products meet luxury quality standards, sustainability objectives, and regulatory requirements
Maintain knowledge of market trends and competitor intelligence and benchmark appropriately
Source and develop relationships with best-in-class global artisans, manufacturers, and premium suppliers to underpin our excellence in product ambitions
Negotiate commercial terms, MOQs, lead times, exclusivity, and margin structures
Oversee ethical sourcing, quality assurance, and compliance across the supply base
Own category trading performance, driving sales, margin, and stock efficiency
Monitor in-season performance, supporting action on rebuys, markdowns, and exits
Collaborate with Merchandising and Supply Chain to optimise availability and stock flow
Partner with Marketing, Creative, and Retail teams to ensure cohesive storytelling and exceptional product launches
Lead product input into campaigns, seasonal themes, and visual merchandising direction
Develop high-profile collaborations and limited-edition collections that elevate brand desirability
Managing the delivery of promotional calendars
Deliver internal product training calendar
Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing buying and product development team
Work cross-functionally with Food Buying, Merchandising, Design, Quality, Operations, and Finance
Act as a senior commercial voice for Home within the wider business
Support Buyers / Assistant Buyers in their management of the critical paths and plans to deliver on time deliveries in accordance with the buying calendar and ensure accuracy of information
Requirements:
Proven senior buying and product development experience within luxury, premium, or heritage brands
Strong background in Home, Tableware, Gifting, or Design-led categories
Demonstrable experience managing NPD, own-label development, and exclusive ranges
Excellent commercial acumen with P&L ownership and margin management
Established supplier network across premium and artisan manufacturers
Understanding of sustainability challenges and opportunities
Strong leadership skills with experience building and developing teams
Highly aesthetic with a strong eye for design, quality, and detail
Commercial yet brand-led decision maker
Confident influencer at senior level with strong negotiation skills
Passionate about food culture, entertaining, and luxury lifestyle
Able to deliver presentations across all areas of the business with a key eye on our customer and market needs
Able to articulate complex situations in a simple manner
Strong negotiation and influencing skills with a focus on margin and risk
