The Senior Buyer and Procurement Project Management position is a high impact plant leadership role that is integral for strategic sourcing and planning within the site. This role serves on the Mercury Racing core leadership team and partners with plant leadership to support all manufacturing and engineering requirements and drive continuous improvement in supplier performance and cost to build competitive advantage for Mercury.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and execute site-level procurement strategies
Identify and execute cost savings initiatives
Drive end to end procurement strategies for new product introductions and engineering advancements
Ensure uninterrupted supply to meet production needs
Manage supplier relationships to enhance supply reliability, cost, and innovation
Establish and enforce risk mitigation policies
Implement supplier performance metrics to improve delivery reliability
Oversee supply chain operations and escalate risks as needed
Drive continuous improvement in procurement operations
Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners
Lead process improvement initiatives
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field
5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, APQP, and PPAP
Advanced skills in Excel, Power BI, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
Demonstrated integrity and commitment to a high-performance, inclusive culture
Nice to have:
CPM and/or CPIM certification
Lean and Six Sigma certification and practical experience
