Job Description

Are you an experienced Senior Buyer / Purchasing Manager from the textiles manufacturing industry? Are you looking for a sole role where you’ll have autonomy to manage the supplier process? Are you a mean negotiator? We’re partnering with a phenomenal textile manufacturer who have recently gone through a period of change with exciting growth plans on the horizon. They’re looking to appoint a knowledgeable Buyer with industry knowledge and a good understanding of appropriate raw materials for the manufacturing process.

Job Responsibility

  • It’s a sole role where you’ll have full responsibility for the purchasing function
  • You’ll review the current supplier base with a view to reducing via selection
  • Negotiate pricing and terms
  • Set up a department budget
  • Sourcing new suppliers
  • overseas travel when required
  • Purchase of all raw materials, machinery, equipment and consumables for the business
  • Forecasting and demand planning

Requirements

  • Extensive experience of working in the textiles industry is essential
  • You’ll have had lots of exposure to raw materials including fibres and yarns
  • You’ll be a true Buyer with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal departments and heads
  • You should be a team player with the ability to manage the expectations of all departments regarding their purchasing needs and the process
  • You’ll be analytical and can report data efficiently and accurately
  • A CIPS qualification would be preferred however not a deal-breaker
