Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team is the engine that powers our cloud services. Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than one hundred datacenters and one million servers. Our foundation is built upon and managed by a team of subject matter experts, who work tirelessly to support digital services for more than one billion customers and twenty million businesses in over ninety countries worldwide. CO+I is looking for an experienced Sr. Business Program Manager who can lead complex engagements across key datacenter suppliers, collaborating across business and engineering stakeholders to drive strategic partnership development, focused on a set of complex, bi-lateral engagements in the APAC region. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, has an ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment to drive 360-partnership engagements. You will lead multiple large-scale engagements to improve mutual partnerships with suppliers, balancing technical leadership and business judgement. In this role, you’ll apply an analytical mindset and take a key role in driving strategies and workstreams to deliver stronger outcomes for both Microsoft, our suppliers, and customers. You’ll balance multiple internal and external stakeholders, driving your vision into holistic plans as well driving execution across teams. This role requires a keen sense for stakeholder management, strategic thinking, detailed project management and strong business acumen.

Job Responsibility

  • Work with team leaders on key programs and strategic initiatives to develop clarity on engagement scope and deliverables. Establish a results-oriented, metrics-driven programmatic approach to deliver strategic initiatives.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, driving assessments in collaboration with other teams, conducting competitive analyses, financial modeling and examining customer and technology-related industry trends, as well as industry-specific requirements/regulations and opportunities.
  • Define best practices for business cases that drive long-term, integrated, cross-business solutions and roadmaps that improve business performance and mitigate risk, while driving innovation and collaboration with key suppliers to enable growth and scale.
  • Determine and lead large scale process improvements to quickly scope insights. Ensure alignment between the customer, the market, internal stakeholders, senior leadership, and the goals and strategy of Microsoft.
  • Drive simplification and automation to evolve processes, services, and solutions, to increase agility and efficiencies and lower costs.
  • Lead the tracking, coordination, and communication of end-to-end project schedules and plans. Establish and monitor processes, while driving accountability with stakeholders to follow the established schedule and processes.
  • Demonstrates flexibility working with a global team, including a small core team based in Redmond, WA (USA).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 6+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • The ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Nice to have

  • 6+ years experience in technical program management.
  • 6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 6 years of supplier or customer-facing experience. Experience working within a business development organization is a plus.

  • Previous experience in data analytics/modeling and datacenter infrastructure management.
  • High proficiency in verbal and written communication, ability to interact with diverse groups across multiple organizational levels
  • Creative problem-solving & analytical skills to drive keen insights and understand root causes combined with a “sense of urgency” to develop solutions
  • Experience in delivering strategy and transformational programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence senior level cross functional teams
