Job Description

The Senior Business Development Manager (SBDM) is responsible for driving strategic growth and expanding market presence by identifying and securing new business opportunities, as well as strengthening relationships with existing key accounts. This role requires a customer-centric approach, excellent negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of the industry landscape to tailor solutions that meet the clients' needs while aligning with organizational objectives.

Job Responsibility

  • Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to capture emerging markets and drive revenue growth
  • Conduct market analysis to understand trends, competitor activities, and potential customer needs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement business strategies to meet revenue and profitability targets
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention
  • Serve as the main point of contact for customer inquiries, providing timely and effective solutions to meet their business needs
  • Conduct regular meetings and presentations to communicate product updates and service enhancements to clients
  • Lead the creation of customized business proposals, contracts, and presentations for potential clients
  • Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing to close business deals while ensuring profitability
  • Work closely with legal and finance teams to ensure compliance and financial viability of new deals
  • Actively contribute to the development and execution of client retention strategies, focusing on value-added services and long-term partnerships
  • Continuously identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling to maximize customer lifetime value
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment within the customer management teams
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as marketing, operations, and finance to ensure seamless execution of business development initiatives
  • Set and monitor KPIs to track business development performance, making data-driven decisions to optimize future strategies
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on progress, growth strategies, and market insights to senior leadership

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field. MBA is a plus
  • 3+ years’ experience in business development, with a proven track record of success in customer management and growth
  • Proficient in CRM tools, data analysis, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strategic mindset combined with hands-on execution
  • Proven knowledge and execution of successful development strategies

  • Prepares and presents capability statements and other new business information presentations and works closely with business leaders across the Intelligence and Cyber Business Group to enhance the operational pipelines

  • Consults with the client on upcoming requirements to help shape requests for proposals (RFPs) and ensures BD/Proposal teams have full understanding of requirements, constraints, and perceived risks
  • Works with the Capture Manager and other pursuit leaders to inform decision(s) through contract award, including bid strategies, teaming strategies, competitive analysis, the development of the technical, management and cost strategies associated with the proposal
  • Supports the development of customer account strategies, responses to Request for Information (RFI), Market Surveys, and Expressions of Interest (EOI) documents from the client
  • Participates in the strategic planning process to mature strategies for future market changes and trends and assesses the likely impact on the IC customers
  • Participates in the planning and execution of trade shows and other industry events in support of opportunity development and market strategy
