Operating at the intersection of cutting-edge plant genetics and large-scale commercial production, they specialize in the licensing and strategic development of high-performance plant varieties. The licensed varieties were developed by the Louisiana State University, in USA, which is a strong partner of this company. They are seeking a senior Business Development Manager to lead international commercial expansion across plant genetics, propagation, and agricultural supply chains. This is a strategic, outward-facing role focused on market development, partnerships, licensing, and scalable revenue growth across Europe, North Africa, and emerging production regions. The successful candidate will combine strong commercial instincts with a practical understanding of agricultural production realities, intellectual property, and cross border operations.
Job Responsibility:
Drive commercial growth and market entry strategies across Europe, North Africa, and emerging production regions
Identify, establish, and manage long-term relationships with large-scale growers, industrial processors, and agri-food groups
Negotiate and structure commercial agreements, including royalty-based models and Plant Breeders’ Rights licensing, to ensure scalable revenue growth
Collaborate with legal and regulatory advisors to safeguard intellectual property and design enforcement strategies against illegal propagation
Implement value-based selling strategies, manage pricing frameworks, and track financial performance/budgets across cross-border operations
Act as a senior-level representative of the company, engaging with decision-makers to align production realities with commercial goals
Requirements:
5+ years’ experience in agribusiness, seed, plant propagation, agricultural inputs, or regulated agricultural outputs
A proven track record in international market development, particularly across Europe, Southern Europe, North Africa, and/or Africa
Experience working in cross-border, multi-stakeholder environments, adapting to different cultural, regulatory, and commercial contexts
Demonstrated success in scaling revenues through structured commercial strategies, partnerships, and long-term supply chain development
Commercially driven, pragmatic, and resilient
Collaborative but confident in negotiation
Long-term thinker with a hands-on execution mindset
Strong financial literacy, with the ability to manage budgets, track performance, and understand variances
