The Senior Business Development Manager will play a key role in driving DPI’s growth across the full DPI portfolio, with a focus on Technology Services, Modular Data Centres, Facilities Management, and MEP solutions. This role requires a strong combination of strategic account development, technical understanding of the data centre industry, and high-level commercial acumen. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with deep experience in the data centre ecosystem, confident in client-facing engagements, and skilled at developing complex solutions by collaborating with technical, operational, and engineering teams.
Job Responsibility:
Drive new business acquisition across target markets, including hyperscale, colocation, enterprise and edge data centre clients
Develop and execute growth strategies for Technology Services, Modular Data Centres, FM, and MEP solutions
Conduct comprehensive account research and mapping to identify key stakeholders, decision-makers, influencers, and buying processes
Build, manage, and grow a healthy sales pipeline, ensuring continuous opportunity flow
Deliver compelling proposals, bids, and commercial documents aligned to client needs and DPI capabilities
Achieve and exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, cultivating long-term trusted partnerships
Lead customer meetings, workshops, presentations, and technical conversations with confidence and clarity
Understand client requirements in depth and translate them into technical and commercial solutions using DPI’s portfolio
Drive account plans, business reviews, and performance reporting to senior stakeholders both internally and externally
Maintain a strong technical understanding of the data centre market, including infrastructure, power and cooling, connectivity, white space fit-out, design and build processes, MEP systems, and operational best practices
Keep abreast of evolving technologies within modular data centres, edge deployments, and sustainability innovations
Collaborate with engineering, project delivery, service management, and operations teams to ensure solutions are feasible and competitive
Support the development of new service offerings or value propositions based on market demand
Partner with marketing to develop campaigns, case studies, and go-to-market content
Work closely with sales engineering, engineering, and operations during the bid process
Provide business insights and feedback to leadership to guide strategic decision-making
Represent the business, upholding our core values and behaviours with all internal and external customers, clients and third parties
Maintain business and client confidentiality, adhering to applicable Data Protection regulations and Information Security Standards in line with company and group policies and procedures
Requirements:
Proven track record (7+ years) in Business Development and/or Account Management within the data centre, critical infrastructure, technology services, facilities management or engineering sectors
Strong understanding of data centre environments, including MEP systems, IT infrastructure, whitespace build, data centre facilities management, modular/ prefabricated solutions and/or software-based selling
Demonstrable experience conducting structured account research and mapping, including stakeholder identification and engagement strategy
Excellent presentation skills – capable of delivering technical and commercial presentations to senior stakeholders, architects, consultants, and engineering teams
Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to shape complex opportunities
Experience managing long sales cycles and multi‑disciplinary bid processes
Highly analytical with strong commercial awareness
Experience selling to hyperscale cloud providers or large colocation operators
Existing relationships within the data centre ecosystem (consultants, end‑users, contractors)
Understanding of sustainability trends, energy efficiency, and ESG drivers in the critical infrastructure sector
Knowledge of project lifecycle in construction, M&E, or modular build environments
