We are looking for a results-driven Senior Business Development Executive to drive high-quality revenue through Upwork. This role focuses on identifying, qualifying, and closing opportunities that align with our delivery capabilities. You will be responsible for maximizing conversion efficiency, maintaining scope integrity, and ensuring delivery feasibility while protecting margins. The role operates within a structured stage-gate system, ensuring all deals are technically validated before progressing.
Job Responsibility:
Identify and target relevant Upwork job postings aligned with company service offerings
Filter out low-quality, misaligned, or high-risk opportunities
Focus on clients with clear intent, defined budgets, and well-defined scope
Maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified leads
Craft tailored, high-impact proposals based on client needs and problem understanding
Clearly articulate value proposition, approach, and expected outcomes
Position solutions rather than generic services
Ensure all commitments are realistic and avoid overpromising
Lead discovery conversations to gather detailed client requirements
Ask structured and insightful questions to uncover scope, constraints, and expectations
Build trust through clarity, responsiveness, and demonstrated expertise
Drive conversations toward next steps such as calls, validation, and closure
Collaborate with the Solutions Architect prior to proposal submission
Ensure scope clarity, correct technology stack, realistic timelines, and accurate effort estimation
Enforce Gate 1 process and avoid progressing without technical validation
Prepare structured and comprehensive project handover documentation
Ensure clear scope definition, agreed deliverables, defined timelines, and documented assumptions
Minimize rejection risk at the next stage through high-quality handover
Track and manage pipeline metrics including leads contacted, responses received, calls scheduled, and deals closed
Analyze drop-off points and continuously optimize the conversion funnel
Contribute to weekly pipeline tracking and performance reporting
Requirements:
3-5 Years of experience
Proven experience in Upwork bidding and client acquisition
Strong understanding of digital/IT services (e.g., web, mobile, SaaS, etc.)
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Ability to understand technical concepts and translate them into business value
Strong organizational and pipeline management skills
Experience working in structured sales or pre-sales environments is a plus
