We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Data Quality Analyst to support a large-scale data analytics initiative for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). This is an exciting opportunity for a senior Business Analyst with expertise in data quality, SQL, analytics, and business process analysis who enjoys solving complex data challenges and partnering with both technical and business stakeholders. In this role, you will serve as the bridge between Information Technology and business users, helping improve data quality, reporting, analytics, and strategic decision making across one of the state's largest health and human services organizations.
Job Responsibility
Partner with business leaders, program staff, and technical teams to understand complex data domains and business requirements
Gather, analyze, and document business and operational requirements for enterprise analytics initiatives
Translate complex technical findings into clear, business-friendly language for non-technical stakeholders
Analyze and profile large datasets using SQL to identify data quality issues, trends, and opportunities for improvement
Collaborate with business users and IT teams to develop data quality profiles, business data lineage, and reporting solutions
Create dashboards, visualizations, and analytical reports that support strategic decision making
Ensure compliance with enterprise data governance standards and reporting requirements
Assist in validating AI-generated outputs and identify potential inaccuracies or data inconsistencies
Develop standardized AI prompts and query templates to improve reporting accuracy and consistency
Create documentation, user guides, and training materials to improve organizational data literacy
Mentor business users on data quality best practices and effective use of analytics tools
Work closely with data engineering and development teams to troubleshoot complex data issues and improve data integrity
Stay current on emerging technologies related to business intelligence, artificial intelligence, data quality, and analytics
Requirements
8+ years of Business Analysis experience supporting enterprise technology initiatives
8+ years gathering business requirements and translating complex business and data requirements into actionable solutions
8+ years of experience performing complex data analysis and serving as a business systems analyst or data liaison
Advanced SQL experience including data extraction, profiling, manipulation, and validation
Experience creating and validating data profiles to support enterprise analytics initiatives
Strong understanding of data quality principles and business process analysis
Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills
Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
Experience working collaboratively across cross-functional teams
Nice to have
Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehouse environments
Data governance and enterprise data quality initiatives
Health and Human Services, healthcare, or other highly regulated industries
Snowflake Cortex, Toad, or similar data profiling tools
