Purpose of the role: To provide analysis of, and help develop solutions for, business problems and initiatives. To provide guidance and support to other Business Analysts within Business Services and DACB.
Job Responsibility:
Ensuring the clear and accurate identification of business problems and requirements
Production of appropriately documented, effective and measurable solution designs
Clear communication with and to all stakeholders
Data Analysis and Insights
Assisting in the continuous improvement of processes and procedures
Management and reporting of team workload and to assist in resource planning
Mentor and develop junior team members, including on-boarding new starters
Is also willing to take ownership on any other tasks and responsibilities as required
Requirements:
Extensive and current business analysis experience working across the full IT development life cycle
Extensive and current experience of business process re-engineering for delivering business change
Significant experience of working with SSADM/OO/Lean/Agile and other methodologies
Proficient with requirements capture and diagramming tools e.g. Visio, Azure Dev Ops
Experience of reporting to and working closely with senior business stakeholders and project sponsors
Experience of guiding and mentoring other analysts to produce work of consistent quality
Be a team player and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams and present findings persuasively
Be able to see the bigger picture, but pay close attention to detail
Be self-motivated and able to work to a high standard under own initiative, managing heavy and varied workloads
Have the ability to understand technical complexities and issues and to provide clear direction
Have strong analytical skills, able to think laterally and challenge the status quo
Have excellent commercial awareness with a good understanding of business drivers, service standards and the role of business change in achieving strategic objectives
Be adaptable and have a "can do" attitude and proactive, pragmatic approach
Have the ability to work simultaneously on multiple small and/or large assignments
Proficiency in data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and advanced Excel skills
Familiarity with change management and benefits realisation methodologies (e.g., MSP or APMG Managing Benefits)
