An established and well-resourced property owner is seeking a Building Surveyor to join their in-house team in Kent. This is a client-side, project-focused role offering the opportunity to work across a diverse and interesting portfolio including residential, agricultural and retail assets. The position sits within a collaborative internal construction management team and offers genuine involvement from strategy through to delivery.
Job Responsibility:
Leading and supporting a range of project-focused surveying instructions
Diagnosing building pathology and preparing detailed specifications of work
Contract administration and overseeing works on site
Working closely with the internal construction management team to deliver projects effectively
Supporting change of use strategies across the portfolio
Advising on works to conservation and heritage buildings
Ensuring projects are delivered to programme, budget and quality standards
Requirements:
Proven experience in a Building Surveying role (client-side or consultancy)
Strong technical knowledge including building pathology and specification writing
Experience administering contracts and managing works on site
Understanding of conservation and heritage buildings
Commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to change of use strategies
A proactive, solutions-focused approach
Able to work both independently and as part of a wider team
Nice to have:
MRICS qualified or working towards chartership
